See below for all general enquiries relating to our CBD oil products, including their contents, how they work and more.

CBD stands for cannabidiol, a compound derived from the hemp plant and its cousin plant marijuana. CBD, however, is not to be mistaken for THC, a related compound of the marijuana plant and one which forms the psychoactive element that induces feelings of intoxication. CBD is legal in the UK and, when extracted into oil form, it can be used to treat a variety of ailments without feelings of intoxication.

No, CBD is not psychoactive.

Believe it or not, the human body has cannabinoid receptors (known as CB receptors) which belong to a whole system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a complex cell-signaling process that works by endocannabinoids (molecules naturally produced by the body) sending signals to the brain. These signals are related to things like pain, memory, sensation, sleep and much more.

When CBD is ingested into the body, it forges strong and binding connections with our CB receptors. Although research into the interactions between CBD and the ECS is still ongoing, the prevailing hypothesis is that CBD prevents the naturally occurring endocannabinoids from breaking down. As a result, this prolongs and strengthens the ECS’s signalling because the endocannabinoids have not been broken down as they would have normally.

There are two main receptors of the endocannabinoid system, CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors moderate things like mood, memory, how you feel pain and respond to stress, motor function, and critical thinking. CB2 receptors moderate inflammation and our immune response, while handling control signals from our bones, respiratory tract, muscles, nervous system and cardiovascular system.

Because CBD oil could positively influence how we respond to stress, some golfers have found it a revelation not just for their game but also for the betterment of their lifestyle.

Some of the benefits of CBD oil include: pain relief, the reduction of anxiety, and improvement of sleep. These are just three of many benefits, but think for a moment how they might apply to a game of golf. Have you ever had an injury that prevented you from getting out on the tee? Or has anxiety made it difficult to find your way out of a sandbank? Perhaps lack of sleep has affected your concentration? Golf tests your nerve as well as your emotional response, both of which CBD oil can help with.

The benefits of CBD oil are as follows. In some of these areas, research is still ongoing but overall there has been demonstrable progress made, evidenced by trials on both humans and animals.

- Can reduce stress

- Can decrease the physiological effects of anxiety, like increased heart rate or nausea

- Helps induce sleep in cases of insomnia

- May improve concentration

Our CBD oils come in tincture form, you simply drop the suggested dose which is clearly specified on each bottle’s packaging, beneath your tongue. This area is a capillary-rich area where the CBD can reach your bloodstream quicker as its absorbs much more effectively rather than going through your digestion system.

There is really no definitive answer to this. The general consensus among medical professionals and consumers is that you should take your CBD oil in the morning to set you up for the day ahead (especially if you have a game later that day). If, however, you’re using CBD oil to improve your sleep then we recommend you take it at bedtime.

CBD oil is suitable for all adults over the age of 18. If you’re experiencing chronic pain, struggling with anxiety or stress, or feeling like you can’t relax while on the tee or off, then CBD oil may be suitable for you.

CBD oil is legal for both professional and amateur golfers in the UK, over the age of 18. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced the approval of the use of cannabidiol, better known as CBD in 2018. CBD in oil (spray and tincture) and cream was removed from the list of banned substances on its website worldwide.

n the last decade alone there has been a vast body of research that demonstrates the efficacy of CBD oil. Across the world and here in the UK, trials are ongoing in the ever-expanding world of CBD treatment. CBD oil has changed the lives of countless people, whether it’s pain relief, anti-anxiety, or sleep improvement. We’re right there at the forefront of the CBD movement and we have a long list of CBD advocates from the golf community.
